Birchbox vs. Glossybox ~ December Edition

Hey lovelies!  As many of you, I'm a huge lover of monthly beauty product boxes.  Since I know many of you love to see what's inside them (as I do too!) and also, you (and I too!) wonder how they stack up, different price points, different products, etc.  I thought I'd start showing you how the two I subscribe to stack up; I bring you Birchbox vs. Glossybox, December Edition.  {More after the jump}

This month's Birchbox came in an adorably festive box, and also included a cute gift tag too.  Here's everything it came with.  As you can see, there's a few samples and a $50 credit (off of a $125+ rental) to Rent the Runway (note ~ this month's PopSugar Must Have box also came with a RtR credit... too bad they can't be combined).

This adorable mini blush in Hot Mama from theBalm cosmetics is probably my favorite part of the box, if only because the packaging is too cute!  But I do love it as a blush too :)  One tacky note, the Miss Jessie's Original Pillow Soft curl lotion packets were clearly marked FREE.  A few months back, we got a larger tube of a different Miss Jessie's product, which my hair really liked.  I'm disappointed that we got these tacky, FREE foil packets of this stuff.  The Perfekt Lash Perfection Gel is pretty amazing, it's a lash primer, conditioner and mascara in one!

This month's Glossybox theme was Glamour, Glitz and Gloss, and was festively wrapped in the precious Christmas-y tissue paper.  By far, my favorite parts are the Jewelmint necklace, the Zoya polish in Ziv, and the adorable mark lipclick (which all are full sized products)

THE VERDICT
Birchbox costs $10 a month, and although early on in its life we received full sized products fairly often, lately it's been leaving quite a bit more to the imagination.  However, in its defense, I do still get to try new products and brands that I have really liked, and feel that overall it's worth the cost.

Glossybox costs $21 a month, and in the 6 or so months I've been a subscriber, I have been consistently pleased with the range of products as well as the amount of full sized products received.  The value alone of the 3 full sized products in this one box is $50, more than making up for the cost of the box.

THE WINNER
Glossybox is hands down December's winner, what do you think?

xx

  1. I love this type of post-combining different subscriptions and comparing them! It helps narrow down the choices!!

  2. I think I like the Glossybox the best. I may have to become a subscriber.
