Smart n Snazzy Loves Glasses!

Hiya lovelies!  Sometimes the best thing about blogging is finding out about some really rad retailers and etailers.  Now, I’d LOVE to introduce you to GlassesUSA.com.  I was thrilled when they contacted me to partner up and review their site.  With only two days left in the year, it’s time to use those flex dollars before you lose them!  And who doesn’t always need another pair of eyeglasses?  I seriously could have 20 pairs and still want more.

Now first what I cannot stand about getting new glasses is the amount of time it takes.  I’m usually there for at least two hours, trying on every single pair about 73 times each.  And I still don’t find any that I like.  Plus, having two kids in tow really doesn’t help much, even with an iPhone to distract them.  So why not shop virtually and order glasses online?  You upload a headshot of yourself and “try on” the different styles of online eyeglasses.  When you find the perfect pair (or pairs!), simply input your prescription and voila!

I had never thought about online eyeglasses.  Never knew it existed!  But now that I’ve been introduced to GlassesUSA I’ll definitely be buying my glasses this way from now on.

Which brings me to the other thing I hate about getting glasses:  the price!  I don’t get high end designer glasses, but still wind up spending about $400 when all is said and done.  That’s an obscene amount of money!  I found a pair of glasses I love, and using the promotion code they’ve generously offered, with the additional lens options, they still come to under $100!  That’s more like it!  Now I can buy several pair and not just be restricted to one pair of glasses I’m meh about.   Plus, GlassesUSA offers a 110% lowest price guarantee and a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

GlassesUSA has generously offered Smart n Snazzy readers some discounts when ordering eyeglasses.
Use Holiday2011 and take 30% off any pair of glasses and get free US shipping.  This includes basic single vision lenses; upgrades are available at an additional cost.
Use Blog10 and take 10% off any order of prescription glasses.
Sound good? The above ones I'm ordering..I love how they look!

My WhimseyBox...and What I Made!

Hey lovelies!  I hope your holidays were fantastic!
When Alicia reached out to me about being an alpha tester for her newest venture, WhimseyBox, I was ecstatic to oblige.
If you're not familiar, you pay $15 a month for a box with different samples every month to be sent to your door.  It's a great way to try different products before you'd buy them!
Let me tell you, she did not disappoint!  The attention to detail is exquisite!  The box itself is fabulous, with its magnetic closure and metal plate on the back to insert a contents label, it's designed to be used!  And honestly, what crafter doesn't need more storage?  Here's a peek at what's inside:

12 DIYs of Christmas ~ Day 11: DIY Wreaths

Merry Christmas Eve, lovelies!  I showed you these three little wreaths I have hanging up in my last post, so I thought I share with you how I made them!  Now I don't have step by step pics, since I made these last year.  But they were so easy, that it's not even needed :) {More after the jump}

12 DIYs of Christmas ~ Day 10: DIY Snowflake Wreath

Hey lovelies!  I thought I'd show you a quick, easy craft to do if you're still itching for some more!  I bought a bag of 12 wired pine/evergreen (I can never tell the difference!) at the dollar store.  Here's what I did:

12 DIYs of Christmas ~ Day 8: DIY Ornament Mini Chandelier

Hey lovelies!  I wanted to share with you some of my sexy old Christmas ornaments I made 10 years ago, back when I made my feather wreath.  Some of them actually are made with the leftover feather boa from the wreath!
Since they don't go with my current Christmas tree decor, I still wanted to use them somehow.  I made a mini chandelier out of them!  I made a loop out of ribbon, and then knotted a ribbon to each ornament hook, and knotted the other end of the ribbon to the loop.  Here it is, my sexy ornament mini chandelier:

DailyBuzz Style 9x9 ~ December: DIY Holiday Gifts

Hiya lovelies!  I was beyond thrilled to be selected by the editors of DailyBuzz Style to participate in this month's 9x9 challenge, DIY Holiday Gifts.  My post will be featured on their website on Thursday, along with the other 8 bloggers chosen.  Is that right up my alley or what?  I've seen so many cute ideas lately, and I've really wanted to create some vintage china teacup candles.  So I did just that!

I found the teacups and saucers at my local thrift store, and bought the candle making supplies at the craft store.  Here's the how-to: {More after the jump}

12 DIYs of Christmas ~ Day 7 ~ DIY Snow Hat Ornaments

Hey lovelies!  I've been busy crafting away, catching up on some long overdue posts :)  Hopefully I'm inspiring you to go out, grab some supplies, and make some last minute decorations, too!

These ornaments kind of happened on a whim, and I love how they came out.  I think they look like a head with a snow hat, in an abstract way.

12 DIYs of Christmas ~ Day 6 ~ DIY Feather Wreath

Why hello there, lovelies!  After working a 17 hour day yesterday, I decided that I shouldn't have to work today.  I think that's some sound logic there, right?  Anyways, I am spending the day being as productive as I can, which means lots of blogging, cleaning, decorating, wrapping presents, etc.

Today's DIY is actually one I made 10 years ago, I remember because it was my daughter's first Christmas. I'll be sharing some of the ornaments I made then too.  My theme was a sexy white and red tree and decor :)  So of course I needed a sexy wreath, naturally.  While I don't have the steps documented (sorry!) this was so easy that it really doesn't require much.

I just finished up my weekly post over on Fashions Blogs, and I think you'll really love it!  I used the same unorthodox material as I did for my Kate Spade City Lights Inspired Bracelet.  This time though, I made the Dannijo Studded Stingray Cuff Inspired Bracelet.  The Dannijo version, now on sale, will set you back $203.  Mine cost nothing, using stuff I already had on hand.  Here's what it looks like:

DIY ~ Kate Spade City Lights Bracelet

Hiya lovelies!  I posted a teaser pic of this bracelet earlier today, and some of you may have seen the inspiration I pinned on pinterest too.  Well, here it is!

And the inspiration... I loved it when I saw it, but didn't realize the DIY potential until I saw that the bracelet was partially made of paper!

12 DIYs of Christmas ~ Day 2 ~ Tinselly Mini Tree

Hey lovelies!  Here it is, Day 2 of my 12 DIYs of Christmas (or holidays...these are kind of neutral decorations lol!)  I cannot believe its only 11 days left until Christmas, I'm *almost* done with my shopping, but have yet to begin wrapping...EEK!
Today I've got some easy and inexpensive little tabletop decor items for you enjoyment.  Please note, I used this tinselly ribbon I got at Walmart, but you can also use sparkly pipe cleaners, which you can see in the very last pic :)  Enjoy!

12 DIYs of Christmas ~ Day 1 ~ Glittered on the Inside Ornaments

Hiya lovelies!  I've done so many Christmas crafts lately, that I thought I'd do a 12 DIYs of Christmas, seeing how there's (EEK!) only 12 days left until Christmas!

For these ornaments, I wanted them to be glittered, but not on the outside.  I wanted the clear class to show off the glitter on the inside, but I didn't want the glitter to be loose.  So I used a paper jello shot cup (idk what else to call these little bitty ones?) and filled it about 1/3 full of water and squeezed about a tablespoon of Elmer's glue inside and mixed it up really well.  Here's the how-to:

MonDIY ~ DIY Anthropologie Earbuds Bracelet

Happy Monday lovelies!  I hope you had a fabulous weekend.  I've been busy busy busy, as I'm sure y'all have too :)  I've got lots of DIYs coming your way, so make sure you are subscribing via whatever method suits your fancy (all the buttons and such to the right).
Today's DIY is inspired by Anthropologie's Earbuds Bracelet.  It's so cute, but there's no way I'm about to spend $88 on something I can make using things I have on hand.  Here's the how-to:

DIY ~ My Christmas Tree Inspired Chevron Paintings

Hey lovelies!  I hope the holiday season is treating you well :)  It's so close, I can't believe it!  I'm especially looking forward to the week off of work I'm taking between Christmas and New Years.  In the meantime, I've been doing a ton of crafts!  I love decorating, and I'm hardly done :)
If you follow me on twitter, you may have seen these.  My tree matches absolutely nothing in my condo.  It sticks out like a sore thumb I swear.  So I wanted to do some paintings to tie the colors in to my decor a bit more.  I had these two plain canvases I got awhile back in a pack at Hobby Lobby, and had all the paint on hand, so it was easy!  All else you'll need is a ruler and pencil to make the lines.  You could also use painters tape so your edges are cleaner, but I opted to do it all free handed.  Here's the how-to:

I think the metallic silver paint really makes them come alive.  Now I need to incorporate the colors into the rest of my decor....stay tuned :)

MonDIY ~ DIY Studded Collar and Cuffs on Fashions Blogs

Hiya lovelies!  I hope you had a fabulous weekend!  Mine was great, albeit busy, and I really am unsure where it went.  We got snow every day for the last three days here in Denver, and I must admit I'm over winter already.

I took Bella out to lunch and then to the mall on Saturday, and she got her ears pierced!  I cannot believe how much she's growing up.  There's a pic, below :)

As for today's DIY, I studded the collar and cuffs of a plain white button down shirt, so that when it's layered under a sweater it gives that extra dose of chicness.  Head on over to Fashions Blogs for my tutorial.

What do you think?  The sweater is from the boys department at Target, a tip from Mandy of In The Fashion Lane.  I saw her in this sweater and I needed it!
Bella got her birthstone, a sapphire, for her studs.  So precious!

If there's anything you'd like to see me make, please let me know!  In the meantime, head over to Fashions Blogs and show me some love!
