DIY ~ Riveted Vase

DIY Riveted Vase

Hi lovelies!  I've had this fun riveted looking vase made for a while now, but realized I never shared it.  The idea came to me when I did my Ikea Lack Table Hack and I'm really pleased with how Kelly Wearstler-esque this came out.  You really won't believe how easy it is to make and I especially love it styled with paper flowers I made from last month's Whimseybox (get the kit, here!)  {Click for the how-to!}

My June For The Makers Box ~ Unwrapped

Hi lovelies!  Today I'm sharing my June For The Makers box with you.  If you're not familiar, For The Makers comes up with 4 amazing, original designed projects and sends you all the supplies you'll need.  Now that's a bit generic.  They are able to source some of the most incredible materials you've ever seen.  We're talking high quality, vintage, stuff that you can't get at a local craft store.  The projects range from jewelry to sewing and lots in between.  There's always 4 projects that form a cohesive, mini-collection based on that month's theme.  Now you may be wondering, but Lia, you've only shown 3 pieces above.  What gives?  Ahhhh, more on that to come!  {Click to keep reading!}

My June Darby Smart To DIY For Box ~ Unwrapped

Hi lovelies!  I wanted to start something new here on SnS.  Normally, I review my monthly beauty subscription boxes and you guys seem to love them!  So I thought I'd also share my monthly craft subscription boxes too!  As much as I love coming up with my own DIYs, sometimes I need a break from thinking and using my brain and just want to craft and make things.  So this is the first one I've received this month, it's Darby Smart's monthly To DIY For box.  If you're not familiar with Darby Smart, it's a unique concept.  Designers (such as myself!  Check out my kits here and here) come up with projects, and Darby Smart turns them into a DIY kit for people to buy!  There's also a monthly 'surprise' DIY box, which I absolutely love and am sharing here today.  Check out what the projects were!  {Click to keep reading!}

How To Make Sweet Tea in a Keurig

Hi lovelies!  Today I'm sharing a super easy way to make my favorite summertime drink - sweet tea!  I'd usually make this by the pitcher, but since getting a Keurig I found a much quicker way to do it.  Don't like sweet tea?  That's fine, just omit the sugar.  Iced coffee fan?  The same technique works for it too!  {Keep reading for the how-to!}

DIY ~ Wooden Color Cut Bracelet

Hi lovelies!  I've got a really fun DIY for you today.  I was inspired by this Kate Spade Saturday bracelet, which I can't find anymore and is sold out.  Although it's certainly not an expensive piece, it was so easy to recreate; I had everything needed on hand and my boyfriend helped out with the flattening of the beads. {How-to after the jump}

Julep Create Your Color + NYFW Sweepstakes!

Hi lovelies!  When Julep reached out to me about its Create Your Color contest, I couldn't wait to share some of my inspiration with you!  I think every woman would die for the chance to create (AND NAME!) her own nail polish.  While we all could imagine endless "perfect colors", I wanted to go further and think of a polish that totally does not exist.  I mean, what better way to really nail it?  It didn't take long to think of some inspiration.

My heritage is (half) Greek, and I've grown up on the East Coast, so it's natural that I'd be inspired by Greece and its coasts.

Inspired by Greece

What I love the most is the sparkling, almost iridescent shades of blue, offset by the stark white and tan tones.  My polish would be a Greek blue base with duochrome so it would look lighter and darker but would also change to a tannish hue.  It would also have silver, gold, and an iridescent microglitter so it would shimmer like the ocean.  Sounds insane, right?  But wouldn't it be the perfect color? It would be named after me, naturally, Amalia. (ahhm-ahh-lee-ahh){rhymes with mama mia}

What would your color be?  You can peruse some of Julep's existing colors in its Color Library.

Now.  The fun stuff.  You can help me create my own color by clicking below and entering Julep's Sweepstakes to win a trip for 2 to NYC for NYFW and a $5K shopping spree!  It's a total win-win, right?

"New Beginnings" with #TargetWedding + GIVEAWAY!

Hi lovelies!  I've teamed up with Target once again to promote its awesome Target Wedding Registry and how it makes getting that special gift for that special couple (or receiving it if you're the one getting married!) so easy and so perfect to combine the interests of both individuals into a super fun gift that they're sure to treasure!

One of Target's featured registry items is this gorgeous Threshold Beach Blanket, which comes in three colors and I really wish someone would buy it for me!  It's great for the beach, of course, but it's also perfect for the park too!  My guy and I love to just relax outside and enjoy some cold beverages in the summer months, so I'd pair this with these adorable Chevron Outdoor Pillows so we could lounge back, and of course this Coleman Cooler to keep our drinks nice and cold.

Now who wouldn't want an awesome, thoughtful gift like that?  It's the perfect start to a "New Beginning"!

I've got a great way for you to start on that perfect gift (for a happy couple, or for yourself!)!  Target has generously offered one lucky Smart n Snazzy reader a $25 e-gift card!  Entering is simple, use the rafflecopter below!  Good luck!

DIY ~ Upcycled Birchboxes Into Earring Organizer

Hi lovelies!  I'm constantly trying to think of out of the box (no pun intended, but I'll run with it!) when it comes to storage and organization ideas.  This one evolved really organically from a complete random thought while eyeing my recycling bin.  This couldn't be easier, and if you're a Birchbox subscriber you'll have the necessary boxes right off the bat with one box, and you can add another and another in subsequent months - so get started!  {How-to after the jump!}
