12 DIYs of Christmas ~ Day 7 ~ DIY Tile Coasters

Hi lovelies!  So, I've been slacking... well, it all started by my excitement on Friday of seeing NOFX that night.  I was like a kid on Christmas Eve all day long, so of course nothing was accomplished all day.  And then Bella's indoor soccer games yesterday... this mama just had a whirlwind last couple days.  That said, I owe you all Days 7 - 9 today of my 12 DIYs of Christmas.  First up, these tile coasters I made using materials from my WhimseyBox!  {Steps after the jump}

You'll need: 2 tiles from the hardware store, scrapbook paper, ModPodge, felt, foam brush, scissors, sharpie, pencil.

Trace the tile onto the back of the scrapbook paper with a pencil and cut it out.

Place the paper onto the piece of felt, and make a dot at each corner with the sharpie.

Use a scrap piece of paper to draw lines on the felt, connecting the dots.

Here's what you should have.

Cut out the felt squares on the inside of the lines, as shown above.

Apply a generous amount of ModPodge to the back of the coaster, and spread it evenly with the brush.

Press the felt onto the back.

Apply more ModPodge to the front of the coaster now, and spread it evenly.

Apply your piece of paper to the top, and then add more ModPodge to seal it.  Make sure to get the edges!

And that's it!  Wrap them up with a pretty bow and there's an easy, inexpensive gift!  You could also adorn these with a picture, or add a monogram on top!

xx
