My Mani ~ DIY Kate Spade F/W 2013 NYFW Studded Manicure

Hi lovelies!  I've shared some sneak peeks on Instagram of this manicure, I'm soooo excited for it!  (You are following me on Instagram, right?)  I loved this Deborah Lippmann mani when I saw all the pics of it from Kate Spade's show at fashion week; The Budget Babe posted some incredible pics and I knew I had to recreate it!  (Loving my chic Cynthia Rowley band-aid?)  {Get the how to after the jump}

Here's the exact products I used: Nail file to round nails (I got this one in a Julep Maven box) | Small (4mm) pyramid studs {Check out their coupons here} (Make sure to get these or smaller ones, as large ones are too much for an everyday, short nail mani and look a little silly) | Wet n Wild Fast Dry in Ebony Hates Chris | Julep Freedom Polymer Topcoat | OPI Top Coat | Sephora by OPI in What Aura Gonna Wear | Julep Basecoat

Start by shaping your nails into a nice short, rounded shape.  Apply a good basecoat, followed by two coats of the color of your choosing.

Since the Kate Spade manicures were in either bright pink or black, I decided to combine the two and do an accent nail of the other color, with different colors on either hand.  Let the color dry completely.

Time to add the studs!

Apply a small amount of the OPI topcoat to the base of the nail, where the stud will go.  Push the stud into place, and seal it with a coat of the topcoat.

When all nails are done and the topcoat is dry, seal it really well with a polymer topcoat.

This has to be my all time favorite manicure I've done, and with the extra topcoats, it really holds up well.  Now you could use nail glue to apply the studs, but I usually change polish every couple days and didn't want anything I was going to struggle with.  Is this a mani you'd try?
