12 DIYs of Christmas ~ Day 3 ~ Tulle for Your Tree

Hiya lovelies!  Wowza...9 days left!  If you've missed the first two days of my 12 DIYs of Christmas, click here for the recap.  Today I want to share with you two things.  One, my tree skirt and two, how I added some colorful depth to my white tree.  The common thread?  TULLE!

{More after the jump}

For my uber girly tree, I wanted the skirt to look more like a tutu than a blankety rug of sorts.  So I got 2 yards of some different colors of tulle and netting from the fabric store, and just simply draped and layered them around the bottom of the tree.

Amazing, right?  Well the all white tree really lacks depth and i wanted to find a way to take care of that.  I cut a bunch of 1' square pieces of tulle and netting and stuck them in between the main branches of the tree. In the first picture above, you can see how it adds colorful depth.  Below, you can see the texture and colorful impact that it adds.

So there you have it!  About $3 spent, and what a major impact!  I hope you're loving these, make sure to keep following as there's a bunch more to come!  To recap all of my Christmas DIYs I've done, click here.  Please let me know if you've made any of these projects, I'd love to feature you!
