DIY Pearl Footed Shell Dish

Hi lovelies!  Today's DIY is a super simple, less than 5 minute one; the best, right?  I've had this gorgeous abalone shell I picked up in Sunset Beach last summer at a shop and wanted to make a dish out of it, but wasn't quite sure how to accomplish that.  While perusing One Kings Lane, I stumbled upon this gem (need an invite?  I'd love it if you used my referral link: )  While I wasn't about to add the silver trim (you totally could!), I thought that the freshwater pearl feet were absolutely brilliant!  {Click to keep reading!}

You'll need:

  • Abalone shell (pick one up at a souvenir shop for about $8)
  • 3 freshwater pearl beads (from Michael's)
  • Superglue (as always, I love Loctite!)

Lay out your three beads in a triangle.  Play around with the spacing by setting your shell on top, trying to make it level and ensure that it doesn't touch the table in the middle of the triangle.  Once you have your spacing down, apply a dollop of glue to the top of each bead and carefully place the shell on top.  Let dry.

It should look something like this :)

Et voila!  It's perfect for corralling your little trinkets, baubles, or even some adorable ocean-hued polishes ;)
