DIY ~ Ball Chain Multi-Strand Bracelet

Hi lovelies!  I hope your week is off to a great start!  I've got a fun and easy bracelet DIY for you, which I was able to make with materials I had on hand.  While you may not have everything on hand, the materials are extremely inexpensive.  {More after the jump}

You'll need: super glue (I am a huge fan of Loctite's Gel Control), ball chain, two ribbon crimp ends, 3 jump rings, and a lobster clasp.  I suggest getting your ball chain at the hardware store, it is SO much cheaper there than at the craft store.  Crazy right?  I cut mine into 16 6.5" pieces as I wanted the bracelet to be loose.

Working one piece at a time, apply enough super glue for about 3 pieces of chain to the inside of the crimp end.  Gently shove the ball chain end into the glue, letting the metal spacers rest in between the little teeth.  Keep gluing and adding until half the pieces are glued.  Let dry.

Now repeat on the other end, let dry thoroughly.

Next I added the second set of eight, on top of the others.  You'll want to glue these into the empty side of the crimp end, kind of on top of the other set.

While I did the first set straight, I twisted these as I glued down the final end to the opposite crimp end, see above.  I like the extra thickness and messiness it gives, but you can do yours however you like!

Add jump rings and your lobster clasp.  (I decided to forego the large jump ring pictured in the materials because the smaller jump ring worked fine with the lobster clasp)

And here's how I wore it!  Sorry for the cut off head, but I wasn't wearing any makeup. Ha!

Is this something you'll make?  I'm giving away a Create Your Style with Swarovski Elements necklace kit, have you entered yet?

xx

  4. This looks easy enough for a novice like me to make.

    Do you get many things from the hardware store? I've never crafted any jewelry because I've thought it a bit expensive.

    Thanks for the wonderful ideas!
