DIY Glittered Pumpkins

Hello lovelies!  I hope you're all getting in the Halloween spirit!  I was recently sent some goodies from Aleene's Glue and Adhesives and was most excited to try the new Tacky Dotter (post to come soon, stay tuned!) as well as the Tacky Spray!  I've been a long time fan of the original Tacky Glue and Fabric Fusion and have used those in several projects before.  Here's what I got:  {More after the break}

I had picked up some small pumpkins from the dollar store and decided to use some ultrafine glitter to give them a see-through glittered effect.  If you don't want to see the orange through the glitter, I'd recommend you paint the pumpkin the same color as the glitter or use chunkier glitter.

You'll need:

Squeeze a generous amount of glue on the pumpkin.  I love this glue because it's so thick and it really is tacky, it's tricky to spread out so better to apply too much than not enough.

Use your sponge brush to spread out the glue to cover the entire surface you're covering. I did a little at a time until the entire pumpkin was done.

With your pumpkin on the paper plate, sprinkle glitter over the glue until the glue is covered.  You will be able to see the white glue through the glitter, but only until it dries.

Move on to the next area and repeat the steps.

They make an adorable addition to my spooky fireplace!  I especially love the effect I created by using only one coat of ultrafine glitter; it gives so much dimension to the pumpkins!
