My January Birchbox ~ Unwrapped

Hi lovelies!  I love this time of the month, when all of my monthly subscription boxes come in!  First up I'm going to share my January Birchbox!  If you're not familiar, subscribe to Birchbox for only $10 a month and get handpicked beauty and lifestyle samples delivered to your door free! {Click to see what I got!}

Here's what I got!  This month was a wicked fun one, I was giddy with delight when I opened my box and saw the goodies.

Serge Normant | Dry Conditioner
I think I was most excited to try this.  I've been dying to try a dry conditioner and have been hesitant on pulling the trigger, so this was some kind of psychic connection on Birchbox's part :)  I only wash my (dry, wavy) hair 2-3 times a week, so I heavily rely on dry shampoo to revive my locks and to absorb the oils.  But too much product on my ends can really make them greasy and heavy so I try to avoid that.  I. Love. This.  It is truly the conditioning equivalent to dry shampoo.  It softens my hair, makes it pretty and shiny, and best of all it tames any frizz or dryness and does so without any heavy product.  I spray down my roots really well with dry shampoo, rub it in to give it some lift and volume, and then spray this on the bottom third of my hair and kind of run my fingers through it.  It's perfect, I'll soon be buying this full size!

Nail Rock | Velvet in Navy
So as much of a nail polish junkie I am, admittedly I've never tried any of these types of textured finishes in which you apply color and then dip the nail in a pot of glitter/beads/flocking dust.  Needless to say, I was thrilled to receive this kit to try.  I think it will be really fun and I'm curious to see how long it lasts.  The directions are pretty simple: apply 2 coats of polish and then dip wet nails into the velvet dust and let dry for 20 minutes.  It's perfect to do this weekend and catch up on some magazines!  I'll post pics next week :)

Burt's Bees | Intense Hydration Day Lotion with Clary Sage
I love these Birchbox Finds that are some months a fun extra.  I am a huge fan of Burt's Bees and this lotion is so fantastic.  While it's called a lotion, it really has the consistency of a thick cream or body butter.  It's light herbal scent is soothing, and it really nourishes my dry skin.  Thankfully, the back of the card above is a $3 coupon so I can head to the drug store and pick up the full-size!

Harvey Prince | Journey
I love the artwork for the packaging, seriously how adorable is it?  This scent is quite unique in my opinion, it's a kind of spicy/floral/oriental all in one.  It smells soooo good and I really enjoy it when I wear it; I find myself constantly sniffing my wrists throughout the day!  Best of all?  The full-size is actually affordable at only $55.

Inika | Mineral Eyeshadow in Eternal Marine
I really like this color, in the pot it looks more gray, but in the lighting/photo it really captured the subtle greenish bluish shimmer it has.  It's a great pigment and goes on smoothly, and the color really lasts well.  It's a nice sheer color when just brushed on to bare lids, certainly more pigmented and deeper when applied over primer, and an amazing statement applied with a wet brush and over primer.

Lastly, these super fun postcards were in the box!  I can't wait to frame a couple of them (how adorable are the 'Si! Oui! Yes!' and 'Be Awesome' ones?)

All in all, this was a fabulous box.  The products were perfect picks for me and my habits/routine, and I'm thoroughly satisfied with everything.

So that's my Birchbox this month, what was in yours?

  2. What a nice blog you have! Your charming personality sparkles through it and I like your fashion-style. I was lucky enough for Christmas to have one of my girlfriends give me a Birchbox subscription, so I know how exciting and fun the boxes are. Enjoy yours!
