My Mini Target Clearance Haul

Hi lovelies!  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.  I unplugged and helped the bf redo his sitting room/office/man cave and sewed some curtains for his odd-length windows.  So while I wasn't too productive on the blogging end, I thought I would quickly share with you some steals I picked up at Target on clearance!  {More after the jump}

Shopping Haul ~ H&M Denver and More!

Happy Tuesday lovelies!  Can you believe that there hasn't been an H&M in Denver, until last week that is.  It opened downtown on Thursday, Nov. 10.  So I took a half day on Friday to check it out and I am so glad I did!  Here's what I got, along with some other killer deals I got Friday and Saturday at Colorado Ski & Golf, Gap, and Ann Taylor.

This is the metallic purple sweater and black shorts, I snapped a pic while trying it on.  Cute, huh?

New Vlog! Urban Decay Makeup Haul!

Hello lovelies!!  Did you hit up Urban Decay's Friends and Family sale they had on their website last week?  25% off EVERYTHING!!  If not, sorry you missed out!  While I did not go overboard, I did get a few new things I'd love to share with you!

Also, let's discuss something.  Do you throw out all of your eyeshadows after 1 year?  I follow the 3 month rule with mascaras, but I can't seem to follow the 12 month rule with eyeshadows or lipsticks/lip glosses.  What do you think?  Help!!!

Not So Extreme Couponing...But Good Enough For Me!

Happy Friday lovelies!  I am loving the weather we are having here in CO, it's finally in the 70s and it's supposed to be up around 80 the next 3 days.  YAY!  I just wish the pool in my complex would open!


As many of you know, I recently lost my job three weeks ago, and money has been EXTREMELY tight.  But I'm strong woman, and I don't let it get me down.  I find a way to work around it.  I'm sure you've all seen or at least heard of the new TLC show Extreme Couponing, where these maniacal savvy shoppers get $1000 worth of food/products they will never use in 4 lifetimes for like $20.  That's not so much me, as I'm too practical.  I only buy stuff I know will get used within the next few weeks, maybe 2 months max.  But, I love the concept behind what these people are doing.

By simply reading the sales circulars that the grocery stores are putting out, and comparing that to coupons you have on hand or ones that can be printed out on the internet, you can save a lot of money.  I buy the Sunday paper every week at the dollar store.  I invested about 2 hours this past week, and got $166.79 worth of groceries for $55.23 - a savings of $111.56 or 67%!  I matched up the sales with coupons and really did not buy anything that I didn't have coupons for.  Here's what I got:

King Soopers... You can see everything in the picture so I won't bother listing it all lol.  Not pictured: 1 toothbrush, toothpaste, cheese, 2 pouches of dishwasher detergent tabs.

Safeway...Not pictured: 1 apple :)

I really don't think I did too bad.  Notice I didn't buy any meat, I stocked up a while back while it was on sale and have too much in my freezer! 

What do y'all think?  Do you use coupons when you shop?  Are you willing to put in a few hours of your time in order to save money at the grocery store, or is it a waste of time?

Burberry, Biker, and Buying... Oh My!

My outfit today, along with my attempt at a pensive face :)  First off, my 6 year old son took my pics, didn't he do an amazing job?  I'm so proud of my little guy!
So CO seriously has the most bipolar (not biwinning) weather.  I watched the weather on the news last night, and there was no mention of precipitation and it was supposed to be in the 50s today.  Anyhow, this is what I woke up to this morning (after wicked sleeping in):

Seriously?!  Eff you Colorado.  We've been having 60-70 degree weather.  Funny enough, by the time I left the house, the snow stopped.  It was actually wicked nice this afternoon, warm even.  I digress, sort of.  The weather is the reason for the rain boots in my outfit.  I spent a ton on these friggen boots and rarely wear them.  So any little bit of wetness outside, I jump on the opportunity to rock my Burberry rain boots!

I love this faux leather jacket soooo much.  I got it at Nordstrom Rack last year, it's Big Chill.  I think I paid $30 for it.  Gotta love Nordstrom Rack!!  It's pretty rad how it's goldish around the seams and what not.  Sick jacket.

I heart my boots.  Love.

So given the icky weather this morning, I did not bring my sunglasses to work with me today.  Plus, in my haste, I forgot to put on earrings.  I seriously feel naked and it feels creepy to not have earrings on.  So at work, I planned on running to Forever 21 at lunch, it's a couple blocks away from the office.  So there I went, intent on only buying earrings.  Well as soon as I stepped outside, I realized I needed sunglasses too since it appeared that the morning's weather occurance never happened, which is all too common here.  Here's what I left the store with (yet only $34 later.  I love Forever 21).  Clearly, I got a little sidetracked.  What's your favorite piece?  Mine is the bottom gold ring, which is made up of a bazillion interlocked rings.  I counted. 

Well I also remembered that it was the last day for the Victorias Secret panty sale, 7 for $25.50, which is pretty insane.  So I went there also.

Hi, my name is Lia, and I'm a shopaholic.  I think I am going to cut myself off for April and see how much money I can save.  I want to take the kids to visit my mom and brother and grandmother in FL in June, so I bet I can do it.   I'm also going to really step up my game on this blog.  I've got a TON of projects to do and post, starting with a bunch of repurposing/refashioning fashion and decor DIYs, as well as some easy peasy lemon squeezy DIYs.  I'm going to make it my goal to try and post every day, so yell at me if I don't.

Recent Shopping Hauls

Hiya!  So while I'm in the midst of several DIY projects, and more keep coming up!!, I thought I'd share some of my recent amazing finds on recent shopping trips :)

FLIPPED over these colors at Walgreens.  I'm so digging the neon trend, and seriously, my sh!tty camera doesn't do these colors justice.  They're by Sinful Colors, and the names are Dream On, 24/7, and Innocent.  Friggen day glo nail polish. Sooooo beyond stoked!  And they were only $1.99 each.  For realz.

So I was at Joann's Fabrics the other day, and as usual, spent like an hour perusing all the aisles.  I found these Darice gold rings that ranged in size from like 2 feet in diameter to 3", the latter of which were $0.49 each.  So I grabbed three, and am totally rocking them as bangles.  No clue what else they could be used for, but they make amazing bracelets!

TJ Maxx.  Fendi sunglasses on clearance for $35.  No friggen joke.  Marc by Marc Jacobs sunnies.  Also $35. Of course I bought both.  Seriously, couldn't buy even one pair for that price regularly.  I think the Fendi's retail for $350... 

Here they are again.  LOVE LOVE LOVE.  Also, below them is this SICK chain mail bib I scored at Forever 21.  $5.  Nuff said.

I am utterly OBSESSED with vintage clutches.  I found these at the local thrift shop.  I paid like $30 for the four, and that's only because the INSANE score on the bottom left was $20.  Love these all.

Last but most certainly not least, the piece de resistance.  Seriously found this 60s (?) vintage Lanvin dress for $10 at the thrift shop.  I nearly sh!t my pants.  No joke.  I love love love it.  I wear it without the matching belt, and with a wide black leather belt, over leggings and with tall boots.  Pure sickness.  I'll post outfit pics soon :)

Speaking of outfit pics, I really want to start posting them, but my camera is so crappy, as you can kinda tell from these pics.  Bonus time and tax refund time is extremely soon, and I think an SLR is calling my name.... can't wait!  As is a new laptop, and a vacation, and a new purse...(suggestions? )

I hope to finish up some DIYs this weekend, even one would be nice.  Not sure if I'll be able to, but I'll try.  I've got a baby shower tomorrow, a date tomorrow night (!), and Sunday I'm (I know I'm crazy and shouldn't, but I'm broke and my hair color sucks and I have too many grays) stripping the black out of my hair and going blonde again.  Yah I'm doing it myself, against EVERYONE'S advice. But it's my hair and I'll do what I want with it :)  Updates to come... Happy Friday!!!!
