Recently, the gorgeous ~L~ from Avid Accents began using amazingly decorated rooms' color schemes to build her outfits around. I love how she interpreted the room's feeling and put that into the outfit as well. Her outfits were spot on and absolutely amazing!
Last week, she posted a challenge. Be the stylist and build an outfit, using this room as inspiration:
Now me, I am *always* up for a challenge! So of course I was up for it. Besides, I love the color scheme. When I lived in Florida, I painted every room of our house bright, tropical colors. I immediately got the beach vibe from the room. It's classy, chic, yet understated and casual at the same time. I saw the turquoise as more of an accent, and here's what I came up with:
First off, I need to thank my beautiful daughter, Isabella for playing photographer.
Wearing:
Olive silky boyfriend button up shirt, Kohls; Yellow tshirt, Target; White pants, NY and Company; Grey peep toe booties, Sam and Libby via Ross; White purse, Target; Turquoise necklace, Mother's Day gift from the kids; Turquoise earrings, Kohls; Sunnies, Forever 21.
Little man is such a photo hijacker. Here he is sidling in...
Now he's sidled up to me....
I love my little man :)
And he loves his mama too!
So I digressed, but I think that the outfit screams classy, chic, understated, and casual all at the same time, while representing the color palette.
I love this idea, and may do some more color scheme outfits in the future, this was so fun and I actually am starting to look at my wardrobe a bit differently....
If you haven't checked out Avid Accents, you better do it now!
