Spiked Cherry Sprite Drink Recipe

Hi lovelies!  As you may or may not know, I'm such a fruity-drink lover.  I'm not a fan of wine/champagne at all, and love beer, but loooove my fruity drinks.  So I decided I'd start sharing some of my favorite recipes with you.  Today I'm sharing my Spiked Cherry Sprite drink.  It's super easy, *almost* like a Dirty Shirley (which may be coming up next week), but not.  Best of all, it is the perfect I-want-to-drink-something-fruity-that-doesn't-taste-like-alcohol drink.  Watch out though, or it will creep up on you!  *SnS advises you to please drink responsibly*   Get out the drink umbrellas, it's totally acceptable here!  {Click to keep reading!}

Bella's June/July Darby Smart Girl Box ~ Unwrapped #DarbyGirl

Hi lovelies!  You may recall I began sharing my monthly DIY subscription boxes with you recently.  Well, Darby Smart also offers a Darby Girl box, too!  Rather than monthly, though, it's every two months.  The kit included everything Bella needed to make her own neon geometric tote - perfect to tote her things to the pool but also back and forth to her dad's house too!

We used the masking tape to make lines going int lots of different directions, which created triangles in the space!  She then picked some random ones to paint using the different colors provided.  It took about 10 minutes to make, then we let it dry overnight and voila!  An adorable new tote bag!

Bella loves getting her bi-monthly Darby Girl box, it's specially designed for 'tweens so every project has been something she absolutely loves!

I emphatically urge you, if you have a 'tween girl in your life, to subscribe her to this awesome service!

Hi lovelies!  Lately, chewing gum has been a necessity for me.  I have it on me at all times.  I quit smoking two months ago, so whenever I get stressed or bored or anything that would normally trigger smoking, I chew a piece of gum until the craving subsides.  By far, my favorite is Juicy Fruit because the flavor just brings nostalgia to me and all of a sudden I feel like I'm a kid again!  And I'm not smoking too!

We do a lot of little trips during the summer, so needless to say Juicy Fruit's new gum varieties have been my saving grace.

Summer Fun Juicy Fruit Gum #JuicyFruitFunSide #shop

You see, I just flew into California this morning, and my trusty Juicy Fruit gum nixed my anxiety on the plane!  No smoking?  No fear!  Ears popping?  Not today!

I wanted to do something fun with upcycling the wrapper/container, so I thought what better way to remember your summer travels than to reuse the packaging for something you'll look at all year long!  {Click for the how-to!}

My June Whimseybox ~ Unwrapped

Hi lovelies!  You may (or may not!) have heard of the awesome company, Whimseybox.  It's a community for makers.  It's a one stop shop for the best in DIY and crafts.  It's a place to be inspired and buy the supplies for your next project.  Aaaand it's the original DIY craft monthly subscription box (and only $15/month!).  Whimseybox is located in Boulder, CO, so I've been fortunate to have met the team a few times and they are even more amazing than you could imagine!

What I love especially about Whimseybox is that you learn a new craft skill every month.  Seriously.  This month it was all about gold leafing (I threw in some silver too, to make it my own!), previous month's projects have included wool felting, paper flower-making, calligraphy, air-dry clay, cement, hand sewing, macrame, and making your own hand scrub and lotion, just to name a few!  {More after the jump!}

Decorate Your Locker with LLZ by Locker Lookz #LLZGirlz

Hi lovelies!  It seems like summer just started, doesn't it?  Well what if I told you my kids go back to school in a month?  Okay, 5 weeks.  But still.  Where did my summer go?  And, I want it back!  So now it's time to start back to school shopping.  The hardest part is shopping for my 8th grade daughter's locker.  She likes certain colors but hates others, she doesn't like things too girly, but still wants a fun locker.  Last year's was a hodge podge of found items, with no common theme.  And she had a blast peeling off those stickers that promise to come off easily but really don't.

When I was asked to review the LLZ by Locker Lookz line of high quality, high fashion locker decorations, I was really hopeful.  And when they arrived, I was so stoked because they were so much better than I expected!  Everything is magnetic!  There's no adhesives or anything, and the magnets are super strong.  The 'wallpaper' is standard sized (but with a grid on the back for easy cutting to size), with perforations around the hooks for the back piece and around the lock mechanisms for the door piece.  You simply hang them up with the little round magnets you can see in the pics.  So awesome!  {Click to keep reading!}

DIY ~ Silver Leafed Flamingo Fauxidermy

Hi lovelies!  This may be one of my fave DIYs, like ever.  I have these plastic flamingos on my patio that I've had for years and the poor guys have certainly seen better days; they're sun-faded and a little sad looking.  So I decided to spruce one up a bit, and bring him inside where he can shine and be the center of attention!  This project took an afternoon, and was really simple to do.  {Click for the how-to!}
